C. Richard Cranwell, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia, issued the following statement Wednesday on behalf of Virginia Democrats:

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the disaster in Haiti and to their loved ones here in Virginia. We applaud the Virginians involved in relief efforts, including Virginia Task Force 1 from Fairfax County. We pray for their safety and the well-being of all those affected by this tragedy."
