RICHMOND – In reports filed with the State Board of Elections on Monday, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling reported raising $448,076 during the April 1-May 27 period. Bolling has $928,707 cash on hand and has raised $1,769,307 for his re-election campaign since its inception in March 2008.

Bolling received 1954 contributions during the period, including 1662 contributions in amounts less than $100. Bolling has over three times more cash on hand as the leading Democratic candidate.

“I am very appreciative of the strong and broad based financial support I have received from all across the Commonwealth,” said Bolling. “Raising $450,000 from almost 2000 contributors in less than two months is further evidence that Virginia’s business leaders and working families trust Bob McDonnell and me to create new jobs, grow our economy and restore fiscal integrity to our state government. Our message of ‘New Ideas for a Better Virginia’ and our promise to find realistic and workable solutions to the challenges we face is clearly resonating with Virginia voters.”

On May 30th, Bolling officially earned the Republican Party’s nomination for Lieutenant Governor by receiving 84% of the vote at the Virginia Republican State Convention, the largest margin of victory ever in a contested Republican nomination contest.
