Raleigh - Gov. Mike Easley has appointed Dana Begley Combopiano of Raleigh and Jim Doyle of Sanford to the North Carolina Board of Electrolysis Examiners.
Combopiano is a licensed medical electrologist at Corlase Electrolysis and Laser. She attended the Ohio Institute of Electrology in Tiffin, Ohio and Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver, Colo.
Doyle is a retired colonel in the U.S. Army. He served overseas in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. Doyle has been awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation, Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist and the Rigger Badge. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in public administration from the University of Maryland in College Park.
The board works to ensure minimum standards of competency, protect the public from misrepresentation of status of persons who hold themselves out to be ‘certified electrologists’ and to provide the public with safe care by the mandatory licensing for electrolysis’s. The board has five members, each serving a three-year term. The governor appoints three members. The senate president pro tempore and the speaker of the house each appoint one member.
