GOVERNOR CORZINE TO DEPART SATURDAY FOR OFFICIAL VISIT TO ISRAEL

TRENTON – Governor Jon S. Corzine will depart Saturday, July 19, for an official visit to the State of Israel, which begins July 20 and concludes July 24.

 

Governor Corzine will meet with key business leaders and top Israeli government officials to discuss potential bilateral partnerships in such fields as life sciences, stem cell research, alternative energy, green technologies, and other high-tech related sectors, as well as foreign trade opportunities and cultural exchanges.

 

Highlights of Governor Corzine’s schedule include:

 

Meeting with scientists at the Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, to discuss stem cell research and trauma treatment;
Discussions with cultural entities, including Israel Museum, Jerusalem;
Briefing with U. S. Embassy officials in Tel Aviv and U.S. Consulate, Jerusalem;
Meeting with Israel Venture Capital Community in Tel Aviv;
Official visit to Yad Vashem in remembrance of Holocaust victims;
Meeting with Israeli high-tech companies at the Information Science Center (MAMTAM), Haifa;
Review new airport security and homeland security technology at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv;
Tour one of Israel’s top desalinization plants, Tel Aviv;
Will be honored by the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Tel Aviv, during a luncheon with U.S. companies operating in Israel, and Israeli companies with business interests in New Jersey;
Participate in a roundtable with companies specializing in green technology, Tel Aviv;
Meet with Better Place Project corporate officials and discuss  prototype electric car technology, Tel Aviv;
Meeting with scientists and officials at the Weizman Institute of Science.
