Attorney General Kelly A. Ayotte reports today that Allen Farrell, 27 years old, from Manchester, New Hampshire, pled guilty in Hillsborough County North Superior Court to one count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell, subsequent offense.  Farrell was sentenced to 10-20 years in the New Hampshire State Prison for possessing greater than 5 ounces of cocaine.

Farrell was arrested on February 23, 2006, in Manchester, by his parole officer, following a routine home visit.  At the time of his arrest, Farrell was out on parole for a 2001 drug conviction involving a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.  This case was investigated by the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Field Services Division of Probation/Parole.

Ayotte said:  “Those who sell illegal drugs in our State cause significant harm to the quality of life and safety of all people in New Hampshire.  My Office will continue to vigorously prosecute and upon conviction seek significant prison sentences for drug dealers.  Every component of the criminal justice system including town and city police departments, county sheriffs, the New Hampshire State Police and other State law enforcement, State corrections, federal law enforcement, and the Attorney General’s Drug Task Force work cooperatively every day to detect, apprehend, and prosecute those who would illegally sell drugs to our children or our neighbors.  Anyone with information on drug dealing should contact your local police department or the New Hampshire State Police at 1-800-NAB-DOPE.”
