Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) announces that earlier this month, 37 year old Shane Corliss appeared before Hillsborough County Superior Court-Northern District Judge Gillian L. Abramson where he pled guilty to one felony count of Criminal Non-support for failing to pay Court ordered child support. Corliss, of Saint James, MO, owes $50,090.59 in back child support for his children.

Judge Abramson, sentenced Corliss to 3 ½ to 7 years at the New Hampshire State Prison, suspended for 10 years. Corliss also had to address a previously suspended sentence based on a prior conviction of Criminal Non-Support. In July 2005 he pled guilty and was convicted of a Class A Misdemeanor and received a 12 month suspended sentence. Based on his failure to comply with his underlying child support order the State asked the Court to bring forward the 12-month sentence. During a separate hearing Corliss was sentenced to 12 months at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections with all but seventy-four days (74) days suspended for two (2) years. He received seventy-four (74) days of pretrial confinement credit. Other conditions of his sentence include: monthly payments of $1,000.01 beginning July 2, 2008, reimbursement of extradition costs incurred by the State, and a Waiver of Extradition.

Mr. Corliss’ apprehension and conviction was the result of the combined efforts of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department, the Office of the Hillsborough County Attorney, the US Marshals Service, and DCSS.
