SPRINGFIELD Gov. Matt Blunt and his family joined Missourians in celebrating America's independence and the important role of faith and freedom as they attended the James River Assembly's "I Love America" Celebration.

"As we gather with our families and friends to celebrate our freedom, we also gather as a community of believers. With the blessings of freedom and faith come a desire to do what is right and good and the realization that we will prosper as a nation in the measure that we honor Him and seek the right way ahead," Gov. Blunt said. "Americans have demonstrated our inspired faith by reaching out to people in need, not only in this nation, but also around the world to bring to others the same freedom and liberty that we enjoy and celebrate today."

First Lady Melanie Blunt, Branch and their family also joined Gov. Blunt at the "I Love America" Celebration.
