Attorney General Martha Coakley Applauds Governor Patrick for Signing Child Protection Law

BOSTON – Attorney General Martha Coakley issued the following statement today regarding the Governor’s signing of An Act Further Protecting Children: “We are pleased that the Governor signed into law An Act Further Protecting Children today. This new law provides prosecutors with crucial tools to hold accountable predators who take advantage of innocent and vulnerable children and ensures that the most serious offenders face significant prison sentences. Enactment of this law is yet another positive step toward keeping children safe. We appreciate the leadership and hard work of all those involved in the law’s passage, including all 11 District Attorneys, Speaker DiMasi, Senate President Murray, and members of the Legislature.”
