Topeka, KS—Earlier today, the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) made an ad buy across the country for several million dollars. Among the beneficiaries is wannabe “independent” Democrat Nancy Boyda.  

In light of this revelation, Kansas Republican Party Executive Director Christian Morgan stated, “This is another example of how Nancy Boyda is not telling her constituents the whole truth. She has repeatedly stated that she wanted to run an “independent campaign” in 2008. However, to date she has accepted help from John Kerry’s Presidential PAC, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and now an ad buy of over $1 million from the DCCC. How is she being independent?”  

Morgan continued, “Boyda is a classic example of a politician who will say what she thinks her constituents want to hear in order to get elected. The people of Kansas are tired of being told one thing by Boyda in Kansas while her actions in Washington are completely different. Just showing up is not enough for 2nd District voters; honesty and integrity are key. Boyda should stick to her word, follow Sen. Mary Landrieu’s example, and reject this assistance from the DCCC. Otherwise, her claim of independence is a joke.”
