TOPEKA – (June 10, 2008) – Senate Majority Leader Derek Schmidt, R-Independence, today issued the following statement regarding candidate filings:

“Voters in all 105 counties will have a Republican choice for the Kansas Senate in November. We have strong Republican candidates in 38 of 40 senate seats, including some that Democrats have held for decades.

Republican senate candidates will be competitive and carry our message to every corner of Kansas this fall.”
