TOPEKA, KS – Kansas Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh will conclude the candidate filing period for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Kansas Senate, Kansas House of Representatives, District Attorney positions, even numbered Kansas Board of Education seats, and various District Court Judges and District Magistrate Judges in elected districts for the August 5 primary election on Tuesday, June 10 at noon. The Secretary of State’s office will have the filing procedure set up from 8 a.m. to noon in the first floor of the Memorial Hall building.

At the noon deadline, Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh will strike the gavel and declare the filing period for these offices ended. As soon as possible thereafter, a complete candidate list will be prepared and available on our web site at http://www.kssos.org.

Persons interested in filing for office must complete the necessary paperwork and submit a fee or petition to the Secretary of State’s office.
